Cygnet donates furniture to support Ukrainian hospital

Cygnet has donated a range of essential furniture and equipment from one of its sites to Help Ukraine BAMK UK, a Milton Keynes-based community organisation supporting hospitals and humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.

Following our acquisition of the former Hyde Nursing Home in Greater Manchester earlier this year, we chose to repurpose surplus furniture and equipment to support those most in need.

In total, Cygnet have donated 30 profile beds, 30 mattresses, 30 bedside tables, 10 electric wheelchairs, 10 armchairs, 5 fridges, 5 tables, 10 dining chairs, 2 large cooking pots and even a piano.

The donated items are being sent directly to a hospital in Lviv, Ukraine, where medical staff are in urgent need of such resources to support patients affected by the ongoing conflict.

This donation equates to 50 cubic metres of quality furniture being diverted from waste and redirected to a vital humanitarian cause.

Chris Old, Senior Project Manager for Cygnet, said: “We are proud to support Help Ukraine BAMK UK in their incredible work. When we realised we had high-quality furniture that could not be reused within our services, it was important to us that it went somewhere it could make a real difference.

“Knowing these items will directly benefit a hospital in Lviv is deeply rewarding. We’re honoured to play a small part in helping those affected by this devastating conflict.”

A representative from Help Ukraine BAMK UK said: “We are extremely grateful to Cygnet Health Care for this generous donation. Hospitals in Ukraine are under immense pressure and in desperate need of equipment like this.

“These items will go straight to a facility in Lviv, where they will be put to immediate use helping patients and medical teams. Acts of kindness like this have a real and lasting impact.”

Help Ukraine BAMK UK is a volunteer-run organisation made up of Ukrainian and British nationals based in Milton Keynes. The charity collects and transports humanitarian aid, including medical supplies, clothing, food, and other essentials, directly into Ukraine for free distribution by trusted partners.
