Clarion Ward at Cygnet Nield House is our complex personality disorder service for women. We can support women with comorbidities, such as disordered eating, self-harm and complex needs.

The service offers a phased treatment pathway which aims to help the individual service user understand and plan their journey through treatment. Clarion Ward focuses on the need for treatment to be collaborative with service users taking account of individual need, evidence based, driven by multi-disciplinary understanding, support and interventions. This allows the service user to progress through the service and increase their quality of life and functioning.

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

Our service user profile:

    • Female, aged 18+
    • Primary diagnosis of personality disorder
    • May be detained under the Mental Health Act or informal
    • May meet the diagnostic criteria for EUPD patients with co-morbid disordered eating
    • BMI >16 and medically stable (including risks associated with EUPD)
    • May present with co-morbid presentations:
      • Self-harm
      • Self-neglect
      • History of substance misuse
      • Complex needs
      • Disordered eating
    • May have a history of trauma and/or abuse
    • May have experienced previous placement breakdowns
